Corella “Corie” Fairchild Pierson is a Houston based artist, educator, and event producer. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, she has called Texas home for over a decade. Corie holds a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in graphic design from the University of Houston Clear Lake where she graduated with honors in 2016. Corie's collaborative murals with KP can be seen in places like the Carol Fox Park in Jersey Village, TX, the Woodlands Children’s Museum, Otto’s restaurant in the underground of downtown Houston, and Clean Camp yoga studio in Tomball. Her other murals can be seen at Attack Poverty - Friends of Northside in the North Lindale community of Houston and in various short term rental and homes of Oklahoma and Texas.
A strong believer that experiencing art should be accessible and free or affordable for all, Corie has performed live visual art at events like the Missouri City Chalk Fest, Float Fest, the Kerrville Chalk Festival, Houston Via Colori (where she and KP first met), the Lyons Avenue Renaissance Festival, and MidtownHOU Chalk on the Block. Corie has also shown her fine art in group shows at accessible galleries like the Hardy & Nance Studios, Texas Art Asylum, Samara Gallery, and Kerr Arts & Cultural Center.
A lover of nostalgia and mixed media, Corie’s original fine art often includes old book pages or maps, acrylic paint, and inked mandalas and trees on wood canvas in a fashion reminiscent of art nouveau. She often takes commissions of the portraits of patron’s loved ones, painted in acrylic or oil with organically blended backgrounds.
